Every year, thousands of tonnes of good food go to waste – food that could be enjoyed by people and communities across the North East.

By running with us, you’ll help:

What you’ll get as part of Team FareShare

As part of Team FareShare North East, you’ll be joining a charity that takes a practical, hands-on approach to making a difference – and your experience will reflect that.

You’ll receive:

• A FareShare North East running vest to wear with pride on race day
• An optional behind-the-scenes depot visit to see how surplus food is sorted and shared across the region
• A post-race meet-up with Team FareShare, including a group photo to celebrate your achievement
• A simple “fuelled by FareShare” food moment after the race – a chance to refuel and experience the kind of good food you’re helping save and share
• Ongoing support, encouragement, and fundraising guidance from our team
• Real stories and updates showing the impact you’re making for communities and the environment

What we ask from you

• A registration fee of £40
• A commitment to raise £350

How it works

1. Register your interest using the form at the bottom of this page
2. We’ll review applications and offer places
3. If successful, you’ll confirm your place and complete registration
4. We’ll register you with the Great North Run
5. You’ll receive an email to complete your official race entry
6. You start fundraising – and we’ll support you all the way
