Join Team FareShare North East at the Coventry Building Society Great North Swim and take on the 1 mile open water challenge this summer.

12- 14 June 2026 Lake Windermere, Lake District

The 1 Mile distance is suitable for swimmers of all abilities. You will swim the equivalent of 64 lengths of a 25m pool and the average time to complete this distance is 40 minutes. Choose a leisurely breaststroke while taking in the scenery or kick into crawl for a faster time. You must be 16 years or above to enter this event.

What we ask from you

3. If successful, you’ll confirm your place and complete registration
4. We’ll register you with the Great North Run
5. You’ll receive an email to complete your official race entry
6. You start fundraising – and we’ll support you all the way
