Great North Runners raise over £5200!
A huge congratulations to our amazing team of runners who completed the Great North Run this year for FareShare North East! Our 12 brilliant...
As a member of Team FareShare North East, you’ll be joining a small but mighty group of dedicated individuals making a huge impact in our region. By choosing to run for us, you’re not just tackling 13.1 miles—you’re helping us deliver surplus food to vulnerable people across the North East, ensuring that families and individuals receive the support they need in challenging times. Your effort will help us save surplus food, turn it into smiles, and make a real difference in our communities.
We’d love for you to join our team in 2025 and be part of something truly special!
As a part of Team FareShare North East running in the Great North Run 2024, you’ll join a community of dedicated individuals making a meaningful impact on North East communities facing food insecurity. Your commitment to covering 13.1 miles will contribute to empowering the charities we work with to maximize their impact and amplify their ability to address the multifaceted challenges associated with food poverty.
We invite you to become a member of our team and contribute to making a positive difference in 2024.

Already have a place in the Great North Run? Why not make it really count by joining our team to make a difference? We’ll support you all the way and send you a fundraising pack, regular email updates packed full of tips and advice and the biggie, an official ‘Team FareShare North East’ T Shirt.
As an own place runner, you’ll not have a set fundraising target, but every penny you so raise will be gratefully received and put to use in your community. Please fill out our online form to get started.
Take on the 88 Mile Challenge and journey the length of Hadrian’s Wall and raise money for FareShare North East to help get food delivered across the region
As part of Visit Hadrian’s Wall #hw1900 festival, we are inviting you to join us in a fundraising challenge – an 88-mile walk along the historic paths of Hadrian’s Wall.
Arriving at Bowness-on-Solway on the 21st April, you can expect four days of good company, amazing views, challenging walking sessions, and rewarding wind downs at campsites every evening. The challenge will be perfect for experienced hikers, but achievable for anyone who’s new to outdoor fitness or walking for long periods – support staff here at FareShare North East have put together a preparation guide for the walk and can help anyone to get ready to achieve this goal. They’ll also be sharing the load and taking on the challenge with you, and will be there to offer their guidance and support throughout the whole journey. Together we will finish at Segedunum and reach a well-earned rest, as well as a warm welcome from supporters.
Times and meeting location TBC
We ask anyone who is interested in the 88 Mile Challenge to also support the charity by gaining sponsors for their impressive trek. Joining us in our fundraising efforts would play a huge part in helping us to carry out our work. Donations from sponsors will fund the running of 7 busy delivery vans so that there is enough petrol, maintenance, and equipment to keep getting food to people in need. They will also contribute to costs covering equipment for volunteers, ensuring everyone is safe and supported during their shifts.
The deadline to participate in this event has now passed. However, you can still sponsor and donate. If you would like to donate or sponsor someone, please donate here.
