Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June.
Every year, Volunteer’s Week offers a moment for us to recognise the incredible people who give their time, energy, and compassion to support communities across our region. At FareShare North East, this week is more than a celebration. It’s a heart felt tribute to the volunteers who make it possible to reduce food waste and get it to those who need it most in our communities.
Each volunteer plays a key role in helping us save good food. Whether it’s sorting and packing orders in the warehouse, driving our delivery vans, or helping with office admin, their contributions make a real difference. Without them, we could not do what we do!
During Volunteers’ Week, we celebrate the stories, dedication, and impact of our volunteer team. Their efforts enable us to support hundreds of charities, including food banks and community kitchens, reaching thousands of people every week.
Our volunteers bring more than just their time. They bring enthusiasm, invaluable skills, and a shared commitment to our mission. Volunteering also provides opportunities for new friendships, increased confidence, and a sense of purpose.
